ETS Announces Faster TOEFL iBT® Registration in Just 3 Minutes

ETS, the global conducting body of the TOEFL iBT®, has made registering for the exam faster and more convenient than ever. As of October 1, 2024,  candidates across the world, including Indian students, will be able to register for the TOEFL iBT® in less than three minutes with six easy steps.

This update further aligns with ETS's commitment to improving user experience in an effort to make international education more accessible.

What’s New in the TOEFL iBT® Registration Process?

The new system eliminates unnecessary steps in the registration process, hence giving test takers a smooth experience. Here's what you need to know:

• The TOEFL iBT registration process now requires only six steps, eliminating redundancy.

• Steps that are irrelevant, like selecting score recipients, have been removed to make the process faster.

New Six-Step TOEFL iBT® Registration Process

Here’s a breakdown of the updated registration process:

Step 1: Create an account (username, email, and password).

Step 2: Select one or two tests.

Step 3: Choose test dates and times.

Step 4: Provide personal details (name, address, phone number).

Step 5: Add or decline optional test preparation materials.

Step 6: Complete your registration by reviewing the details and making payment.

This step-by-step ensures students save time and can focus on their TOEFL preparation.

• TOEFL TestReady Platform uses AI for creating personalized study plans and giving feedback.

• Exclusive Beginner’s Guide for Indian Students includes free practice tests, sample answers, and audio files.

Furthermore, the ETS has introduced targeted initiatives to support the increasing demand for international education in India, such as:

• HDFC Credila Cashback: this enables students to get a cashback on test fees via the partnership between ETS and HDFC Credila.

• TOEFL Merit Scholarships: These merit scholarships are granted based on high scores in TOEFL.
