Visa Requirements for UCLA School of Law- International Students
F-1 & F-2 Visa
F-1 Student Visa
F-1 student visa is a type of non-immigrant student visa that allows non-immigrants to enter the USA to engage in full-time courses. Once admitted to UCLA, students are eligible to obtain an F-1 visa. Students are expected to report to and attend the educational institution that issued their I-20 before they are eligible to transfer to another institution.

F-2 Dependent Visa
As the name suggests, an F-2 student Visa is a non-immigrant visa issued to dependents (generally to spouses or children) of an F-1 visa student. F-2 visa holders are not eligible for employment authorization and may not engage in a full-time course of study.
SEVIS and SEVP
SEVP: The Student Exchange Visitor Program (SEVP) is curated to assist the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) and the Department of State in better monitoring schools and exchange programs sponsoring F, M, and J visa holders.
SEVIS: The Student and Exchange Visitor Information System (SEVIS) is an online system that keeps accurate and up-to-date information about non-immigrant students with F or M visas, exchange visitors with J visas, and their dependents who hold F-2, M-2, or J-2 visas.
