Visa and Work Opportunities for International Students in Florida
Student Employment
Before Graduation
International students with F-1 and J-1 visas who are enrolled full-time can work on campus for up to 20 hours per week during the regular semester. They can work 40 hours per week on campus during official breaks, like winter break and summer.
After Graduation
After graduation, F-1 and J-1 students cannot work without special permission. F-1 students need a valid Employment Authorization Document (EAD Card) to work anywhere. J-1 students must have work authorization marked on page 1 of their DS-2019 to be eligible to work anywhere.
