General Admission Requirements at SeoulTech for International Students

Here are the key admission criteria that international students, including Indian applicants, must fulfill when applying to Seoul National University of Science and Technology (SeoulTech):

Admission Component

Requirement

Academic Eligibility

Applicants must have completed 12 years of formal education (for undergraduate programs) or hold a bachelor's degree (for master's programs).

English Proficiency

For English-taught programs, a minimum TOEFL iBT score of 71 is required. IELTS 5.5 or higher is also accepted. Applicants from native English-speaking countries may be exempt.

Korean Proficiency (TOPIK)

For Korean-taught programs, a minimum of TOPIK Level 3 is required. Some English-track programs such as IT Management may still require TOPIK Level 3.

Pre Admission Option

Students without the required TOPIK level can apply through pre-admission. They must complete an online interview and commit to Korean language study before full enrollment.

Document Requirements

Applicants must submit academic transcripts, graduation certificates, a valid passport, passport-sized photographs, and notarized translations if documents are not in Korean or English.

Financial Proof

Proof of financial ability is required. Applicants must show funding of approximately 20 million Korean won to cover tuition and living expenses.

Application Process

Students must complete the online application, upload all required documents, participate in interviews (if needed), pay the application fee, and track the admission decision. SeoulTech has four intake cycles: two in spring and two in fall.

How to Apply to SeoulTech as an International Student

Here are the steps international students, including those from India, should follow to apply to Seoul National University of Science and Technology (SeoulTech):

Step 1: Choose Your Program

Visit the official SeoulTech website and browse the list of programs offered at the undergraduate or graduate level. Check whether your chosen program is taught in English or Korean and make sure it aligns with your academic background and goals.

Step 2: Check Eligibility Requirements

Ensure you meet the general admission criteria. For undergraduate programs, you must have completed 12 years of formal education. For graduate programs, a relevant bachelor’s degree is required. If you're applying for an English-taught program, you need a TOEFL iBT score of at least 71. Some departments may require a higher score, especially for scholarships.

Step 3: Prepare All Required Documents

Gather all academic transcripts, certificates, a valid passport, passport-sized photographs, TOEFL score report, Statement of Purpose (SOP), and financial proof. If any of your documents are not in English or Korean, submit notarized translations.

Step 4: Register on the SeoulTech Admissions Portal

Create an online account on the SeoulTech application portal. Choose the correct intake period — early or regular, for either spring or fall semester — and start filling out the form.

Step 5: Fill Out the Application Form

Complete the online form with personal information, academic details, and your preferred program. Upload all necessary documents and double-check everything before submission to avoid errors.

Step 6: Pay the Application Fee

Pay the required application fee as directed on the portal. Payment can typically be made via international bank transfer or credit card.

Step 7: Submit Your TOEFL Score

Log in to the ETS TOEFL account and send your official score directly to SeoulTech using their institution code. Make sure this is done before the application deadline.

Step 8: Attend an Interview if Required

Some programs or cases (especially pre-admission without TOPIK) may require an online interview. The interview is usually conducted in English, Korean, or Chinese, depending on the program.

Step 9: Track Your Application

After submission, log in frequently to check for updates. SeoulTech may request additional documents or schedule an interview, so it’s important to stay active on the portal and keep your email notifications on.

Step 10: Receive Your Admission Letter

If you are accepted, you will receive an official admission letter from SeoulTech. This document is essential for applying for your student visa and preparing for your move to Korea.

I hope this blog on TOEFL-accepting programs at SeoulTech has given you a clear understanding of your study options in South Korea. Whether you're aiming for undergraduate or graduate programs, knowing the TOEFL requirements and application steps can help you plan ahead with confidence.
