Transcript of the Audio Conversation on Transportation Services
Narrator: Listen to a conversation between a student and the campus coordinator on the available transportation services inside the university campus.
John: Good morning Ms. Davis! My name is John and I am pursuing a degree program here in the university. Since today is my first day on campus, I was hoping you could provide some information about the campus transportation services?
Ms. Davis: Hello John! What would you like to know?
John: I was exploring the campus but it is so big that I was late for my first class. I’ve heard near the cafeteria that there are shuttle buses inside the campus, but I’m not really sure how they work. Can you please provide some details about it?
Ms. Davis: Oh! Absolutely. We have several shuttle routes inside the campus which run through different areas inside the premises. I must tell you that these transportation facilities are a great way to get around, especially when you want to get to your classes.
John: Well, that sounds quite convenient. Could you tell me how often do these shuttles run?
Ms. Davis: The shuttles run frequently which starts from 6 am in the morning till late afternoons. A shuttle usually arrives at each stop every 10 to 15 minutes but the frequency might drop to every 20 or 30 minutes during peak hours due to increase in commuters and limited seats. So I would recommend leaving early so that you can get to class on time.
John: That sounds great. Is there any transportation service available for off-campus routes?
Ms. Davis: Of course! we do provide a couple of routes that go off-campus. Most students head to the downtown area in one of those shuttles, which is great to explore the city. This shuttle runs every 15 minutes during the day, and every hour in the evening.
John: Is there a cost to use these transportation services?
Ms. Davis: The shuttle service provided inside the campus is completely free for all students. All you need is a student ID card and swipe it when you get on the bus, and you’re good to go. But for off-campus travel, you need to pay based on the distance you want to travel to.
John: That sounds perfect. One last thing I would want to ask is what’s the best way to keep track of the shuttle schedules?
Ms. Davis: Well, we do have a mobile app which gives you real-time updates on shuttle schedules and the estimated arrival times. You can also check the university’s official website for any announcements or changes to the schedule.
John: Thank you so much, Ms. Davis. I will surely opt for the service once I receive my Student ID card next week.
Ms. Davis: You’re welcome, John! If you have any more queries, you can stop by anytime. Have a great day!
